What Does a beef share cost?

Beef prices in the US are historically high. Having a share of beef remains a very cost effective way of having a delicious, year-round supply of beef.

The cost of your share is $8/lb.
Final weight of your beef will vary depending how how big he grows.
We won't know that weight, the hanging weight, until he is butchered.

Roughly speaking,
-
A quarter beef would weight roughly 150# and at $8.00/lb would be $1200.
-
A half beef, $2400
-
A whole beef $4800.

Remember, the final weight and cost will depend on how big your steer grows.

Why is the final amount of my beef less than the hanging weight?
When you buy a beef share, you are buying a portion of the cow, when the cow is butchered and packaged, not all of the parts of the cow are desirable to eat. So the final amount is usually about 50-60% of the hanging weight

Are our prices competitive?

Yes! We follow the USDA National Monthly Grass Fed Beef Report. As of June, 2025 a quarter beef (our most popular item) was $11.55 per pound of hanging beef, which does not include butchering and packaging or delivery!
